Traditionally trained as a painter and sculptor at the University of Michigan, Las Vegas-resident Scott Piers has become a master at digital art. No longer bound by canvas or limited to a single sculpture, Piers architects a vast three-dimensional environment of colors, textures and shapes. After “exploring” his universe, Piers captures in a print the serendipitous “context from chaos” that he has created. Growing up in Holland, Michigan, Piers was greatly influenced by two of Holland’s most famous business and global leaders of design: Herman Miller Furniture and Howard Miller Clocks. Piers’ passion for contemporary and modern architecture combined with his reverence for the Universe is evident in his artwork. A digital environment best allows him to contemplate the depth and vastness of his “Hyper-Space” – while positioning his “visual camera” from infinite compositional perspectives. “...sometimes it is from within my universe looking out - and sometimes it is from the outside looking in...” Having a life-long fascination with early 20th Century Dada Art, Piers channels their philosophy digitally; hence the birth of “DigiDada”, Piers’ titled print series.
