Susi was born and raised in the suburbs of Montreal, and has always loved art. The first masterpiece she ever created was at the tender age of 5 on her bedroom wall with an HB pencil. It was a loose rendition of a balloon on a string. The piece being well ahead of her time, was not greatly appreciated by her mother. Nevertheless, she was not discouraged but rather went on to study Fine Arts in Montreal and then moved to Toronto to major in Illustration at Ontario College of Art. She has illustrated for magazines, newspapers, storefront murals, and children’s books. In 1993, she won 1st prize for her whimsical design in a Canada-wide Christmas card competition. Her works are primarily oils and watercolors and her subject matter is diverse, ranging from the whimsical to humourous to representational.
