County Courthouses of Texas

Way back in 1996 we, Curtis & Kay Barnfield, started out on a very rewarding journey. While we were on our way back from Kay's retirement trip to the Grand Canyon, Curtis couldn't resist photographing the beautiful Texas county courthouses that we came across. The very first was El Paso and we were hooked!! We even branched out into the states of Oklahoma, New Mexico and in 2007, California. We haven't decided which state we might do next! In 2000 we purchased a brand new Casita Travel Trailer at the manufacturer in Rice, Texas ( http://www.casitatraveltrailers.com ) . It is small and easy to pull around in the small town courthouse squares and the busy downtown big cities. We prefer to stay in the beautiful State Parks when possible. RVing makes the journeys as much fun as the destinations. We must admit that we could not have made it to all 254 Texas courthouses without the help of the great book, The Courthouses of Texas, A Guide, by Mavis P. Kelsey, Sr. and Donald H. Dyal (Texas A&M University Press, 1993). We are continually updating our courthouse photographs, so be sure to check back often.
