People have lamented that they love my art but they cannot afford it, since it is nearly always priced so high due to the intricate details I am known for. That's where Zazzle comes in. Now all my friends and followers can have my art at their homes, offices, and hearts in myriad forms, at a fraction of the cost and on something useful. Voila, my store - The Art Ark! I am somewhat a polyglot - born in Malaysia, studied (law degree) in UK, a Singapore citizen, and USA resident. If that is not a handful already, I was a lawyer, ESL teacher, art teacher, piano teacher, translator of Mandarin-Cantonese-Malay-English, a songwriter, and now a full-time struggling artist newly planted in north Dallas, multitasking as a stay-home dad to 2 kids. I was also a winner twice in the Plano Public Library Bookmark Design Contests 2013 & 2015. My artistic style is based on my South East Asian heritage with a tinge of European realism. I love classical music and literature so I do illustrations as well. Admirers can have fun trying to identify the various influences: Chinese gongbi (detailed outlining), Balinese intricacies, Malaysian shadow puppetry, batik patterns, Egyptian human forms, geometric patterns, ballet and chiaroscuro.
