I am fortunate to have many wonderful memories as a child celebrating the 4th of July. Independence Day was something my family recognized as a special holiday to fully embrace with traditions, family events, community events, food and of course memory-making fun. Here are a few of the memories that inspired my patriotic design collection. My parents planted a yearly summer patriotic garden filled with red, white and blue petunias. We often participated in the town 4th of July Float Competition. Our friends and family walked in the local community 4th of July parade with patriotic clothing and decorated bikes. The parade would end at the local park where the kids received free treats like ice cream cups and caramel popcorn. We watched the annual 4th of July talent show in the community park and of course watched the amazing fireworks shows, complete with the old-style fireworks "ground show" and mandatory grand finale. My store has products with patriotic designs that bring back the memories of childhood Independence Day traditions, events, food and fun. I was also fortunate enough as a child in 1976 to mark the special 4th of July celebration of America's Bicentennial, 200 years of Liberty. This year, 2026, marks the 250th birthday of America's Declaration of Independence. Celebrate America's freedom this year by sharing in the Spirit of 1776 and marking this special occasion, the semiquincentennial, with patriotic products that harken back to small town America and all the way back to 1776, the first Independence Day for America.
