I started out as a young person making large, detailed, hopefully humorous drawings with a punch line down below. Somehow these punch lines or titles seemed to feel, if they carried the significance of the whole shebang, why were they placed way down there at the bottom of the page. Sometimes in these early drawings a few letters did escape upwards into the picture space, but this was rare. However, over time, these "titles" of mine—right before my eyes—kept advancing upwards into my picture place, and slowly but surely they became the picture itself. These "titles" seemed to like their newfound place in the sun, and so I have just sat back and watched what they could do. It has been quite an adventure for me, and I hope it will be an adventure for you, too. Certainly these wordily creations would not be possible without some friendly angel sitting on my shoulder.
