Exhibition Description The Shelf Behind the Curtain, Plate: RH-WC-B2-002 presents the first direct encounter with the hidden room at the center of Book 2. Elias stands just inside The Wishkeeper’s Corner with one hand still holding the old blue curtain aside. Beyond him, a narrow hallway extends farther than the physical dimensions of the building should permit. At its end, a library-like chamber appears beneath the restrained illumination of a blue lantern. Hand-built shelves contain letters, photographs, watches, keys, pressed flowers, boxes, and other modest keepsakes connected to unfinished wishes. The composition is deliberately structured around perspective and distance. Elias occupies the foreground, while the hallway creates a strong visual recession toward the concealed room. The viewer is positioned behind or slightly beside him, sharing the act of discovery rather than observing it from a detached vantage point. The blue curtain serves as both literal fabric and symbolic boundary. Behind Elias lies the familiar warmth of the shop. Ahead, cooler blue tones gradually replace amber and walnut hues as the architecture becomes less certain and the hidden collection emerges from shadow. The work avoids overt supernatural display.
