Ra in his solar barque seemed like the only real option for the Sun card. I found and used appropriate passages from the Egyptian Book of the Dead for the upper 2 corners. All of the zodiac signs are placed within the rays of the sun. I replicated the look of papyrus for the background. The eyes of Ra and Horus are also the eyes of a face in which the sun is the third eye and the barque is the big smiling mouth. The disk on Ra's head could be construed as a clown nose. Seth keeps Apophis at bay during their journey and Maat, the goddess of truth, justice and morality is also along for the ride.
